The Houma Clinic Open House was truly a local event and a special thanks goes out to the Houma community for coming together to help make the open house as successful as it was. A special thanks also goes out to both Roger Songe, chief volunteer at the clinic, as well as Commander of DAV #9 and President of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 630, and Clinic Physician’s Assistant, Keith Poche’, for planning and executing this special and successful celebration. Space won’t permit the listing of all the many volunteers who worked so diligently to make the event such a resounding success. They know who they are and they are all greatly appreciated. Valor’s Outreach Director, Jim Wheeler, who attended the event stated, “I believe that this open house was one of the largest and most successful to date. The event helped to broaden all attendees’ knowledge and perspective of the Houma Clinic and in doing so, helped to promote a unity among the veterans, the Houma community and the clinic.” Also in attendance was Valor President Dr. Lanier, who got to visit with a host of veterans that he has known over the years. The Houma community is still talking about this wonderful event, as is the clinic staff. Many are already asking when Valor can do it again. Based on the good food, attendees, friends and supporters of the clinic, Valor just might have to do it again in the not too distant future. Photo Page #1 (Photos 1 - 30) Return to Previous Page |
